Maha CM Eknath Shinde Hospitalized Amid Persistent Illness,
Caretaker Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde, was admitted to a hospital in Thane on Tuesday after his health showed no signs of improvement. Sources indicate he has been battling a throat infection and fever since last week. Doctors have recommended a comprehensive health evaluation for the Shiv Sena leader.
Speaking to reporters after leaving the hospital, Shinde reassured everyone, saying, he is good and his health condition is stable.
Speculations Around Shinde’s Satara Visit
Shinde had traveled to his native village in Satara district last Friday, sparking rumors of dissatisfaction over the government formation process. Reports suggested he was unhappy with the possibility of not continuing as Chief Minister. However, Shinde clarified that the visit was a much-needed rest following a grueling election campaign.
BJP leader Girish Mahajan visited Shinde on Monday, emphasizing that there are no rifts within the Mahayuti alliance. Mahajan assured reporters that Shinde is recovering and remains engaged in discussions about the upcoming swearing-in ceremony.
Preparations for December 5 Ceremony
Preparations are in full swing at Mumbai’s Azad Maidan for the December 5 swearing-in of Maharashtra’s new government. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to attend the high-profile event.
While BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis is seen as a strong contender for the Chief Minister’s role, the Mahayuti alliance has yet to make an official announcement. The BJP’s state legislature meeting, scheduled for December 4, is likely to finalize the decision.
Mahajan stated, “There are no disputes within the alliance. Shinde and I discussed the preparations for the December 5 ceremony. The alliance is united and committed to working for the people of Maharashtra.”
